STRIVING FOR RESTORATION EXCELLENCE

SERA is dedicated to providing education, specialised training, and networking opportunities for ecological and environmental professionals working together to meet the challenges of ecosystem restoration.

SERA2018 provided an interactive forum for physical, biological, and social scientists, practitioners, engineers, resource managers, planners, and policy makers to share their knowledge, experiences and research concerning terrestrial, aquatic and marine ecosystem restoration on both national and international levels.

SERA aims to hold regional conferences once every two years.

The theme for the 2018 conference was Striving for Restoration Excellence. It provided foundational tools and showcased the latest research.

Programs included a combination of keynote, symposium, oral, and poster presentations. Spanning an array of themes from principles and practice, biomes, impact, and specialist disciplines it catered to the diverse audiences that work in ecological restoration.

SERA conferences strongly encourage participation of Indigenous ecologists. In 2018, an Indigenous values in restoration session was developed and delivered to attempt at creating better link with Indigenous people and culture especially in ecology and land management.
